the Missal of Bl. John XXIII, i.e., a Traditional Latin 'Tridentine' Mass.

Sr. Helen Seidel, R.I.P.

 Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sr. Helen who attended Mass for many years at St. Boniface.
 

Sister M. HELEN SEIDEL
Died December 28, 2010, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, where she had been a resident since December 25. Born in Pittsburgh, January 30, 1938, she was the second of four children of parents JAMES and HELEN KORAN SEIDEL, who named her Dorothy Helen. In 1955 she entered the Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh and made her first vows in 1957. In 1997 she celebrated her 50th anniversary of Religious Profession. She was in the 53rd year of Religious life when she died. Most of Sister Helen's ministry years were spent teaching in Catholic elementary schools in Pittsburgh, Carrolltown, Connellsville, Jeannette, Brookline and Perrysville, PA, and in Canton and Waynesburg, OH. She also served as Director of Religious Education, and worked with child care, adult care and home care. Until her death, she served at Saint Benedict Monastery as part-time receptionist. She is survived by a brother, Rudolph Seidel and his wife Alberta, and two sisters: Ruth Ann - married to Dave McClintock, and Anna, married to Curtis Trimble. Viewing for Sister Helen will be at Saint Benedict Monastery from 3 - 7 Wednesday, December 29 and from 11:00- 6:30 Thursday, December 30. A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are being handled by KASPER-HAHN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh.
